Kevin is our Discipleship Pastor. He and his wife were born and raised in Arkansas. After living and working overseas for a decade throughout South Asia, Kevin and his family recently moved to Birmingham to began serving on staff with our Meadow Brook family in May 2020. Kevin and his family enjoy the Arkansas Razorbacks and spending quality time together. Austin Burch is our Minister of Students. He is passionate about the gospel and helping students live a gospel-centered life. Austin is originally from Mobile, AL and became a Christian when he realized his own brokenness and the hope of gospel as a student. He went to college at the University of Alabama where he got baptized and discipled at First Baptist Tuscaloosa. As he was being discipled and maturing in his faith, he fell in love with serving vocationally in the local church. At First Baptist Tuscaloosa he also met and fell in love with his wife Laura Kathryn Burch. They got married in October 2013 and now have three sons: Bryan, Brooks, and Benjamin. Austin worked in camp ministry for almost a decade while also serving in student ministry in the local church before coming to Meadow Brook. He is almost finished with a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.Read more →
John was called as our Minister to Senior Adults in March 2020. He holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Strategic Studies from the U. S. Army War College, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to joining Meadow Brook Baptist Church, John served for 16 years as a Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served in the Army National Guard for over 30 years and currently serves as the Senior Chaplain for the Texas Army National Guard. John’s passion is teaching God’s Word in order to see lives transformed by the Spirit. He and his wife Stefana, a professor at Beeson Divinity School here in Birmingham, have three children, Sydney, Sophia, and Alasdair.Read more →
Kelley Young is one of the unsung heroes of the church, helping out wherever there is a need on top of all her responsibilities with the Preschool. David is our Minister to Children and Families. He is from Birmingham and graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in 1990. He received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Alabama in 1995 and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001. Before coming to Meadow Brook Baptist Church in the fall of 2007, David served as Minister of Families and Discipleship at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. David has served as our Minister of Music and Worship since January 2012. He is from Chattanooga, Tennessee and received a Bachelor of Church Music from Samford University and a Master of Church Music and Conducting from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. David has served churches in Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama and is currently serving on the Executive Counsel of The Baptist Church Music Conference. He and his wife Jill have two children, Jackson and Ella. David’s passion in ministry is leading the body of Christ to see and connect to the story of God through corporate worship.

Chris Jones was called as our Senior Pastor in April 2013 after serving as Minister of Students at Meadow Brook since May 2011. Originally from Arkansas, Chris and his wife, Ashley, moved to the Birmingham area where Chris received his Master of Divinity in December 2010 from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Prior to that, he attended Ouachita Baptist University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies and in Speech Communication. Specifically, Chris has a desire to communicate the Word of God and to see people grow in Christian discipleship. Chris and Ashley have three children, Kinsley, Paxton, and Elias.Read more →
